My mom passed away in 2010, and in a lot of ways that event is what led me to become a Realtor. After she passed, my brother and I inherited some money and we decided that we were going to use that money to buy a house.
I remember the enormity and weight of that decision, and how scared I was of potentially making a mistake. I wanted to do everything I could to make sure that the house we bought would be a great place to live and an even better investment; something that she would be proud of.
Thankfully, after a few bad experiences, my brother and I were fortunate enough to find an amazing realtor to guide us and ensure that we found exactly what we were looking for rather than someone who was just trying to make a commission on our sale.
So now, whenever I work with a new client, I always remind myself of how I felt when I was initially going through the process, back when I didn’t know anything and had to rely on someone else to help me make one of the biggest decisions of my life.
It’s a huge responsibility, one that I take very seriously (which isn’t to say that real estate has to always be serious – I promise we’ll have fun, too), and it’s why I truly appreciate every single client who puts their trust in me and gives me the opportunity to help them find the perfect place to call home or sell their current one (or both!).
So, if you’re looking for someone to be your guide along the way, please don’t hesitate to give me a shout. Whatever your situation and whatever your budget, I promise to give you the support, consideration, and attention you deserve…
Because at the end of the day, even though she’s gone, I’m still doing everything I can to make my mom proud.
